Format: 2 Man Team - 4 nine hole events - Net best ball – Chapman – Scramble – 2 Ball Total net
In both the Pine Flight and the Long Combo Flight, there was a one stroke difference between first, second and third places.
Pine Flight
Newberg/Sitek made a late run to overtake Day One's dominant leaders Carter/Shelton to win the Pine by one stroke. Happ and Pohler were another stroke behind Carter/Shelton to finish third. Happ/Pohler carded the lowest back nine tying Stenhouse/Harrington for the low round in their flight of 70. Great score in a tough format!!
Long Combo Flight
In the Long Combo flight the distinguished team of Noble/Rossi withstood a round of 30/71 by Harvey/Cothran and came back with a solid 71 on the back to win by one stroke. Mastro (go Matadors)/Flynn were solid every round and finished one stroke back in third place.
Pine/Rust Flight
After an ordinary first day, Hartman/Schneck absolutely blew the field away Day 2.
They tied with Harvey/Cothran for the low round on the front nine with terrific score of 30. However, they were just warming up, as they shot an outstanding 68 on the back in the extremely tough 2 Best Balls format. Their total of 167 won their flight by 8 strokes over Lechtenberg/Lewis and 9 strokes over Lake/Leben, both of whom were solid both days.
Rust Flight
Steady wins the race was the motto of Leyburn/Thordarson in the Rust flight. Their total of 177 was good enough to win their flight by 2 over Bickelhaupt/Rodgers and 3 over Foster/Garrison. The back nine took its toll on much of this flight and the winning team's 73 was enough to get the job done.
Closest to the Pins:
Day 1 # 2 - Jeff McPheeters #5 - Jim Mulhall #12 - Dan Foster #14 - Dan Carter
Day 2 # 2- Andy Heaberlin #5 - Bill Borden # 12 - Mark Pohler # 14 - Kevin Stackis
