SBR Men’s Golf Association Board Meeting
July 23, 2020

Richard called the meeting to order at 2 PM.
II. Reading of the Minutes and Approval
Richard asked if anyone needed the minutes read from the last meeting. Jim Cook made a motion to accept the Board Meeting minutes. Karl seconded the motion and the minutes were unanimously approved.
III. Presidents Report:
Richard opened up the discussion about the Club Championship and Founders Cup in November. After a discussion, the Board approved holding the Club Championship on November 11th and 12th. The Founders Cup will be held on November 19th as a one day event unless we are able to get November 18th as an additional day. If that additional day is secured, it will be a two day event.
Richard asked us if we would like to move to 7:30 AM tee times for the next two months. The SBRWGA asked Mike Jahaske for this change for their group. After discussion, we agreed as a Board to continue with the start time of 8 AM.
IV. Treasurers Report
Mike reviewed the Financial Statements for May and June. We started May with $18,078 in cash in the bank. During the months of May and June we received in total $280 in cash from new memberships. For the months of May and June there were no cash disbursements. At the end of June, we had $18,358 in cash in the bank. The Board will discuss the balance of the year handling of receipts and disbursements at the next Board Meeting. We have dates planned for a Club Championship luncheon and Christmas Dinner Party but based on current Covid-19 restrictions we expect these will not occur this year. Time will tell.
V. Weekly Event Chairmans Report
Karl reported that the weekly game will continue as individual tee times until we are able to go to a shot gun start upon lifting of Covid-19 restrictions. We had rain this morning and thunder while members were playing. Karl will send the membership a copy of our Lightening Policy and it was added to the Home Page of the website for your review. Player safety is our paramount concern and no player need feel obligated to play or continue to play if they are uncomfortable about lightening.
VI. Special Events Chairmans Report
Mick reported that we have a Special Event planned for August. we discussed the event and timing. The Board agreed to hold the Two Man Championship on August 20th as a one day event. Mick will be sending the details out to the membership about the format in the near future. August 13th date will be held as a Weekly Game event.
VII. Rules and Handicap Chairmans Report
Jim reported about some possible relief options for some areas on the golf course that currently exist. He will review with Mike Jahaske for his comments. Most likely the options will go to the Greens Committee for their review and approval so they are consistent for all of SaddleBrooke Ranch Golf Club.
VIII. Membership Chairmans Report
Bob reported that we have 248 members in the Men’s Golf Association. He will be sending out in October 2020 information about 2021 Membership renewal.
IX. Communications Chairmans Report
Mark will be putting information in the SaddleBrooke Ranch Roundup after our upcoming Special Events.
X. Community Outreach Chairmans Report
Jim reported that all the Community Outreach sponsors received their golf shirts from SBRMGA. The comments from them were very positive and appreciated us thinking of them. If you use one of them for their services, please take the time to thank them for their support.
