SaddleBrooke Ranch Men’s Golf Association Board Meeting

Present: Tom Graham – President

I. Opening Tom Graham called the meeting to order at 1:00 pm
II. Reading of the Minutes and Approval Tom asked if anyone needed the minutes read from the last Board meeting. The Board unanimously approved the minutes.
III. President’s Report Tom reported that Dr. Updegraff donated $1,000 to the MGA. Tom is looking into the possibility of renaming one of our tournaments in Dr. Ed’s honor.
The mixed sticks tournament in conjunction with the WGA will be held July 18th. Phil Bartko & Dianne Taylor will be captains of one team, with Eric Taylor & Monika Bartko captaining the other.
Another edition of the scorecard will probably be coming out after the May Member / Member event.
We have 17 new full members & 4 new handicap only members so far this year. We now have 252 full members & 41 handicap only.
IV. Vice President’s Report Eric reported that due to a delay in the monograms, the member shirts have been delayed until August.
Eric would like to see all tournament formats, including tees, formalized & published on our web site. This would do away with revisiting this every year. At that point, the Competition committee may be done away with.
V. Treasurer’s Report
Mike gave a financial update. The board voted to accept the report.
VI. Secretary’s Report
Jeff gave a Grounds Subcommittee update discussing things Aaron Thomas & his staff are currently working on on the course.
VII. Rules & Handicap’s Report
George is seeing less mistakes on cards being turned in.
He is trying to get a feel for how many members are posting their scores hole by hole.
The Greens Committee & others are looking at possibly remarking the out of bounds area behind & to the side of 14 green.
VIII. Special Event’s Report
Bruce discussed the need to standardize the rules & format for special events. He would like to document entry fees, payouts, formats, etc.
After discussion, the board voted to have a standard $25 entry fee for all special events.
Bruce brought up the idea of having senior divisions in future special events. The board agreed to having a senior division in this year’s match play event for players 70 & older. Senior divisions may be added to future special events.
IX. Community Outreach’s Report
Rick reported he is working on getting sponsors for the Member / Guest event. He said Robson is going to contribute $2,500 for the Member / Guest.
The meeting was adjourned at 3:00 pm.
