Ten Reasons to Join the SBR Men’s Golf Association
Weekly Events – every Thursday the Men’s club has a weekly golf event. A different format is played each week, and the games rotate between individual and team events. Team events consist of teams of either two or four players and vary between pick your partner/team or randomly assigned teams. Cost is $5 and all money collected is paid back to the top finishers.
Special Events – There are eight special events throughout the year that are a little different from the usual weekly events. These are Member/Member, Club Championship, Ryder Cup, Match Play, Bubba Hawkins, Member Guest, Founders Cup, and the Eclectic. These events are often two-day events and sometimes include a meal and a drink after the last round. Cost is $25 and all money collected is paid back to the top finishers.
Free Range Balls – During any of our weekly or special events, range balls are provided free of charge prior to tee off for all participants.
Guaranteed Tee Time Every Thursday – When you sign up for a men’s club event you are guaranteed a shotgun tee time at 8 AM on the day of the event.
Hole in One Prize Fund – Get a hole in one during a club event and win $250!
Discounted Golf Shirt – Every January the golf club selects a quality golf polo that is embroidered with the logo of the Men’s Club. The cost is usually $20.
Member/Guest Tournament – This is our signature special event each year. Members can invite a guest for two-plus days of golf and events. Putting contests, amazing hole in one prizes, nice swag and several meals are provided including a banquet on the last night.
Results Party – Many players meet for a drink at the Ranch House after the round on Thursday to discuss their round and share stories. Once all score cards are in the winners of the day are announced to great fanfare.
Pairings Party – Several events each year involve teams of two or four players that are chosen at random. On the Monday before that week the club gathers for a pairings party at 3:30 PM on the Ranch House patio where teams are randomly drawn from a box. Alcoholic shots are included for all those in attendance. Attendance also increases your chances to get your team a prime tee assignment for Thursday.
Fellowship and Laughter – There is a lot of fellowship and laughter in the men’s club. Members often share the latest joke they heard which you are free to repeat to your friends later. And it’s a great way to meet people and make new friends.
