Member Member 2023
We completed our 2-day Member/Member event in near perfect conditions and there was a LOT of excitement and many highlights.
Flight Winners:
Rahm (Pine): 166-Hobie Richards and Ross Horton **Member/Member Champions**
Scheffler (Rust): 167-Larry Bickelhaupt and Bud Bonvouloir
Garcia (Pine/Rust): 169-Dennis Johnson/Bill Teasdale and Jim Cook/Tony Salerno
Koepka (Long Combo): 171-Mike Chonle and Frank Sherfy
Rahm (Pine): Hobie Richards and Ross Horton had several teams nipping on their heels after Day One, but they were up to the challenge by also scoring the best in their flight on Day Two for their wire-to-wire victory. Their final score of 166 was the lowest score of all 54 teams and earned them the title of Member/Member Champions for 2023! Bruce Haney and Patrick Fancher started the day in 5th place and roared back to tally a score of 171 for 2nd place in the flight while Jim Hayek and Tom Grawe were just a stroke back at 172 for 3rd place honors.
Koepka (Long Combo): They led the entire tournament with their 64 yesterday and had lots of teams on their heels, but Mike Chonle and Frank Sherfy held on to win with a sparkling 9-under par 171. After floundering yesterday and finishing in 5th place, Joe Valancius and Mick Borm roared back to fire a 173 and take 2nd place in the flight. Just a stroke back at 174 was the duo of Phil Bartko and Tim Baker.
Garcia (Pine/Rust): After Day One in the flight, there were three 66's, a 67 and three 68's. It was two of the 68's who came from behind to tie for the flight honors with matching 169's. Great work from Dennis Johnson/Bill Teasdale and Jim Cook/Tony Salerno! Grabbing 3rd place in the flight with a 171 was Ed Cheszek and Dave Gruca.
Scheffler (Rust): With Bud's gross 36, this was going to be a tough team to beat. Larry Bickelhaupt and Bud Bonvouloir were in 5th place going into today and 4 strokes back. Their score of 98 today was the entire field's best and gave them a flight victory with a 2-day total of 167. Troy Peterson and Vince Fung took 2nd place with a 172 while Dick Paine and Carl Pfeiffer tallied a 175 for 3rd place.
