In flighted competitions, these players play in the B-flight (pine-rust tees).
In non-flighted competitions, these players play from the pine/rust tees.
Example:
Notes:
The rule of 75 applies to a player who meets the following criteria:
- Over 75 years of age
- Has an index that normally qualifies them to compete in the A-flight and therefore play from the pine tees.
In flighted competitions, these players play in the B-flight (pine-rust tees).
In non-flighted competitions, these players play from the pine/rust tees.
Example:
- Player X is over 75 years of age and has an index of 8.5.
- Normally he would be an A-flight player, playing from the pine tees with a course handicap of 7.
- Under rule 75, he plays in the B-flight from the pine-rust tees with a course handicap of 5.
Notes:
- If a player elects to play under either of these two rules, he must continue to play under this rule for at least one year.
- The rule of 75 does not apply to the Club Championship. To compete in the Club Championship, all players must play from the pine tees
- Because of a change in the way course handicaps are calculated under the 2020 Global Handicap System, there is no requirement to make a manual change the player’s handicap index.
