FOUNDERS’ CUP 2023
We began the event with 106 golfers teeing off on Wednesday and ended the two-day affair with a delicious BBQ brisket lunch in the RH Ballroom. As one of my club tournament buddies used to say ... "no matter what you shoot on the course, never bogey the buffet" ... and we certainly didn't!
Day 1 turned out to be a precursor to some outstanding with 7 players shooting net par or better:
70 Renaud
71 Borden
72 Christianson, Dakin, Sitek, Stenhouse, Whitehead
Day 2 upped the ante with 9 of the net par or better rounds (13) below par:
66 Bill Borden
68 Mike Schuster
69 Jim Rodine
70 Mike McManus, Bill Oprish, Rick Snowden,
71 Mick Borm, Tom Flynn, Jerry Renaud
72 Neil Hartmann, Tim McCauley, Rick Wright
Top 3 place finishers:
1st Bill Borden (71-66)
2nd Jerry Renaud (70-71)
3rd Mike Schuster (74-68)
Not only did Bill win the event he also in the process defended his Founders’ Cup Champion title!
